PERF-1 editor
Every parameter, grouped by voice: all of the pad together, all of the drums together, and so on. Moving a control changes the piece that is playing right now; to keep it, store the piece on the unit (GLO page, SAVE). The pluck's Sound lists the built-in DX voices and the ones you have loaded.
The voices the FM-1 keeps (up to 16, after its built-in DX sounds on the pluck page). Pick a slot, edit the voice: with Live on, every change is sent to that slot as you make it, so you hear it on the pluck. Load .syx banks to take voices from, save the slots as a bank to keep them.

The Sound tab edits the engine's parameters one by one (the same ones the FM-1's pages hold), straight into the piece that is playing. The DX7 voices tab is an editor for the FM voices the FM-1 can keep, with the six operators, the 32 algorithms, the envelopes and the LFO, and takes DX7 SysEx banks and single voices from any librarian.
It speaks to the FM-1 over USB-MIDI SysEx, which the browser asks permission for. Close other programs that use the FM-1's MIDI port first. Nothing is changed on the unit's flash except the DX7 voice slots (kept for the next power-on); the sound edits belong to the piece until you store it on the unit.
